The short version
This site is a set of static pages. I run no advertising trackers, I do not sell data, and you need no account to read anything. Data is involved in exactly two places: the email list, if you choose to join it, and the retailers you click through to.
Affiliate links, cookies and retailer partners
Mr. Steal Deal participates in retailer affiliate programs. By participating in these programs and placing affiliate links on this site, I and my retailer partners may place or recognize cookies on visitors’ browsers, and may receive information from or about visitors. This is how a purchase gets attributed to me so a commission can be paid.
That information is generated by the retailer and their affiliate network, not by me. I receive only aggregate, anonymised reporting — totals, product categories and commission amounts. I never learn who bought what. When you click an outbound link you leave this site, and that retailer’s own privacy policy governs everything that happens next.
What I collect
- If you join the email list: your email address, and the date and source of your sign-up. I keep the sign-up record because affiliate-program rules require me to be able to demonstrate that email was solicited — that you opted in rather than being added.
- Aggregate traffic data: which pages are viewed and roughly where visitors arrive from, in aggregate. Used to decide what to write about.
- Nothing else. No accounts, no profiles, no advertising identifiers, and no attempt to identify individual readers.
Who processes data on my behalf
- Cloudflare — hosting, CDN and privacy-preserving traffic analytics.
- My email provider — stores the mailing list and sends what you opted into.
- Affiliate networks — attribute purchases and report commissions.
I send only what you opted into. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe, and unsubscribing is immediate and permanent unless you rejoin. I do not sell, rent or share the list, and I do not send on behalf of third parties. I do not send marketing text messages at all, and this site never asks for a phone number.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from any email using the link in that email.
- Ask what I hold about you, or ask me to delete it, at [email protected]. Deletion requests are actioned within 30 days.
- Block cookies in your browser — the site is fully readable without them.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes materially I will update the effective date above and, where the change affects the email list, say so in an email rather than quietly amending the page.
